Turning your technical report into a collection of infographics is one of the easiest ways to boost the impact of your reporting. Infographics are perfect tools for the overwhelmed visual hungry audiences that are common in modern times. And chances are, your current technical reports are filled with opportunities.
Report Boost: a done-for-you infographic design sprint.
As a designer with two decades of data experience, I offer Report Boost: a done-for-you infographic design sprint. Starting with a report review I will identify infographic opportunities, reframe your data stories, and develop a collection of infographics designed to amplify the reach of your reporting efforts.
Step 1. Identify Infographic Opportunities.
Technical reports are designed for very a specific audience. And while this audience is usually very important, it is just one small part of your potential audience. Luckily, your technical report is probably filled with opportunities we can leverage to reach these broader audiences.
So step 1 is simply a review of your existing report (or reports).
Step 2. Reframe Your Data Stories.
Infographics are tools we can use to reach beyond your technical audience. But in order to do so, we also need to tweak our writing and stories to meet the needs of those other audiences. That’s what we will do in step 2.
Step 3. Develop a Collection of Infographics.
The types of infographics we should create will depend on the audiences we are trying to reach, the material we are trying to share, and the communication platforms we plan to use. Based on all of that information I will create a set of infographics designed to meet your needs.
