Why this chart?
Slope graphs have increased in popularity but they are still a pretty rare chart to see out in the wild these days. What I like about this one is that compared to a dot plot it really helps the reader isolate individual charts.
Sometimes you do not want your reader to instantly compare all the individual programs. You would prefer they look at each individually, and this graph enables that approach.
