I have a sketchbook in my pocket (Value ~ $3). If I were to drop it out the window from the top of my house it would be ok.
I also have an ipad (Value ~$400). Dropping that out of my backpack from about 2 feet off the ground means needing a new one.
I went through a few hours yesterday convincing myself that I could live without it, then I bit the bullet and purchased a refurb. Stupid technology.
Sorry to learn of your technical difficulties. There is much to be said for analog devices; however the downside is their output is difficult to share.
@MetricMaven very true. I simultaneously hate and love technology. Without the iPad I would not be cartooning, and I love cartooning. The vast majority of the time, the love outweighs the hate. For a few hours the other day, long enough to open microsoft paint and create a blog post, the hate won out
